University Hospital Waterford in Ireland is seeking a full-time Senior Physicist to enhance services within a collaborative team. The role involves supporting imaging departments and contributing to advancements in diagnostic X-ray and Nuclear Medicine technologies. Due to an expansion of services including a new Surgical Hub to enable the separation of scheduled and unscheduled care, University Hospital Waterford is currently recruiting a full time and permanent Senior Physicist to join our team covering the South East.

We are a small, friendly and collaborative team supporting imaging departments in a model 4 hospital (UHW & KROH), two model 3 hospitals (TippUH & WGH) and numerous community healthcare settings including dental services. We work closely with clinical teams to support implementation of new imaging technology and service developments to improve patient care.

The post holder will contribute to all aspects of work with diagnostic X-ray systems & Nuclear Medicine equipment, ideally acting as a Medical Physics Expert (immediately or within 12 months of starting). In addition to assisting the RPA with radiation protection arrangements, the post holder will also have opportunities to be involved in MRI, lasers, UV and ultrasound.
