Job summary

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin 9 is seeking a Medical Physicist on a part-time (17.5 hours/week) permanent contract. The role covers imaging and radiation physics services within the MPCE Department, with reporting to the Principal Physicist.

Candidates should hold a first or second class honours degree in Physics; postgraduate Medical Physics qualification preferred. Driving licence or transport, experience in medical imaging and QA, and strong communication are desirable; travel between Dublin

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a recognised first or second class honours degree in Physics with major subject.
• Or hold a recognised qualification at least equivalent thereto.
• Post-graduate qualification in Medical Physics is desirable.
• A current Irish/EU driving licence and/or access to transport is required.
• Experience in medical imaging and quality assurance programs is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the provision of a medical physics service to imaging and radiation physics.
• Support the MPCE department's strategic goals and objectives.
• Provide regional physics advisory service for radiation protection and QA of diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Collaborate with Principal Physicist to manage resources and service delivery.
• Develop and enhance imaging and radiation physics services and engage with stakeholders.
