Job summary

ControlSoft is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Dundalk, Ireland team. You will design innovative automation solutions by collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, shaping the mechanical elements of our automation systems.

Key duties include 3D/2D design in Solidworks, project documentation, and ensuring customer requirements are understood and met while adhering to ISO 9001. A relevant degree and 5+ years of machine design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automation, electrical, mechanical, electronics or computer science.
• 5+ years of machine design experience.
• Experience with Rockwell/Siemens software and automation platforms.
• Knowledge of safety standards and robotics advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated equipment from concept to delivery.
• Create 3D and 2D designs in Solidworks.
• Prepare project documentation and manage changes.
• Ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
• Plan and prioritise multiple projects across teams.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be located in Dundalk, Co.Louth. The successful candidate will design innovative automation solutions by working with cross functional engineering teams, designing the mechanical elements our of automation solutions.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Design and development of automated equipment to meet customer requirements, owning design elements from concept to project delivery.
• 3D and 2D design and detailing (using Solidworks).
• Project Documentation (Technical document creation, review, and control).
• Ensure project requirements are reviewed and understood and agreed with the customer.
• Plan and prioritise work, across multiple projects, and ensure completion.
• Work with multi-discipline teams to achieve project and company goals.
• Collaborate with project teams, sharing knowledge and working on problem solving.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the department and across the business.
• 3D Design of Mechatronic equipment including mechanism; transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, pneumatics, electrical equipment and machine guarding.
• Document the project and manage the change control.
• Follow our quality management system in accordance with ISO9001.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of a Bachelors in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of machine design experience.
• Industry experience with preference for Rockwell Studio 5000, FT View, Ignition, Siemens TIA Portal/Step7, OSI PI Historian, VBA.
• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP an advantage.
• Cisco Networking qualification and/or VMware or equivalent qualification an advantage.
• Knowledge of Robotics and safety standards an advantage.
• Thorough knowledge of automation principles and procedures.
