Job summary

Axiseng in Ireland is seeking an experienced engineer to lead building services projects and manage design and budget aspects. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate internal resources, and ensure designs meet standards and client requirements.

You will collaborate with external consultants, review daylight studies, and participate in industry events to stay ahead of market trends. The role offers a hybrid work model after training and a strong focus on professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in engineering with a focus on building services.
  • Proven track record of leading projects and managing design and technical aspects.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and value engineering principles.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and coordinate with external consultants.
  • Familiarity with software tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing cost control and budget preparation for engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the development of the basis of design, ensuring each stage of project design is successfully completed.
  • Act as the project coordinator, managing internal resources within the discipline and maintaining timelines.
  • Review and approve design layouts, schematics, and calculations, ensuring adherence to standards and client requirements.
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimise solutions for all projects.
  • Prepare project budgets and manage cost reporting, with accountability for accuracy and adherence to project goals.
  • Manage external consultants and service providers, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Conduct IES report reviews, assess daylight and sunlight studies, and recommend improvements.
  • Attend project and design team meetings, ensuring all actions are closed.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team growth.
  • Ensure awareness of regulatory changes and share insights with the team.
  • Attend industry events to maintain a current understanding of market trends.
