We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Airframe & Structures to take a leading role in the design, analysis, validation, and production readiness of our next-generation aircraft platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical design experience with structures/airframes/aerospace/robotics.
• Strong 3D CAD capability in industry-standard tools.
• Deep understanding of structural design, materials, load paths, stiffness and fatigue.
• Experience using FEA/CFD, thermal analysis, hand calculations and test data.
• Design parts and assemblies for CNC, sheet metal, composites, injection molding, additive manufacturing.
• Strong GD&T, engineering drawings, BOMs, and release documentation.
• Hands-on prototyping, test rigs and environmental/vibration testing.
• Ability to work across disciplines with electrical, software and manufacturing teams.
• Strong communication to explain trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of structural and general mechanical systems for aircraft platforms.
• Own mechanical design work from concept through CAD, analysis, prototype, test, release and production support.
• Design airframe structures, brackets, interfaces, mechanisms, enclosures and integrated systems.
• Analyze structures under static, dynamic, vibration, fatigue and thermal loads.
• Use CAD/FEA/CFD and test data to support engineering decisions.
• Drive lightweight, robust, manufacturable designs meeting safety requirements.
• Apply DFM/DFA across machined, sheet metal, composites and additive parts.
• Conduct tolerance analysis and apply GD&T for production-ready designs.
• Develop and support mechanical test plans, DVPs, test rigs and data analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, electrical, software, test and operations teams.
• Support suppliers to ensure parts are scalable and production-ready.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for mechanical issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards and reviews.
