Job summary

LGC Clinical Diagnostics is a leading life-science tools company seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to drive scale-up, validation, and capital projects in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. You will steer capacity expansion and process improvements across functions, delivering compliant, reliable manufacturing solutions.

You will manage full lifecycle CAPEX, oversee vendor relations, installation, qualification, and validation activities, and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering and 10+ years in controlled manufacturing (IVD/medical devices preferred).
• Proven track record leading scale-up, validation, and operational excellence in regulated settings.
• Experience with validation, quality systems, regulatory adherence, risk management.
• Strong knowledge of automation, equipment integration, and control systems.
• Excellent technical documentation and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing scale-up and capacity expansion projects.
• Manage full lifecycle CAPEX, equipment, and automation initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for validation across project lifecycle.
• Support manufacturing workflows, equipment, and automation systems.
• Lead cross-functional projects from concept to operations handover.
• Resolve complex manufacturing, equipment, and quality issues with teams.
• Support introduction of new products, methods, and equipment to QC manufacturing.
• Ensure engineering activities meet IVD, ISO 13485, GMP and QMS.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
