Ireland is home to External manufacturing’s global headquarters, the business unit responsible for the management of manufacturing contract operations (CMOs) and ensuring reliable supply of product to patients across the Bristol Myers Squibb global network.

This includes management of, and working in conjunction with, third-party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites. In Ireland, External Manufacturing has two sites; Global Headquarters based in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.

The Role

GPS Finance is looking for a Senior Manager role, on a permanent contract, based in Dublin, Ireland. This role reports to the GPS Finance Lead for Legal Entity Reporting and Strategic Analysis.

This exciting role will provide the suitable candidate with a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about various parts of the Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) organization, including the management of legal entity financials and exposure to diverse areas of Finance (Corporate Tax including Transfer Pricing, Alliance accounting, InterCompany Profit). This role also plays a critical part in supporting our Commercial Global Supply Chain Operations and External Manufacturing.

This role is responsible for all activities related to Legal Entity Reporting and Strategic Analysis for US GPS Manufacturing and Distribution Entities. This role collaborates closely with various stakeholders within GPS as well as Corporate Tax and Corporate Financial Reporting and Analysis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of Legal Entity quarterly reviews, including variance analysis for management presentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of all Legal Entity and Statutory reporting processes for US GPS Legal Entities.
  • Review, prepare and submit Intercompany Budget & Projections for Legal Entity P&L with senior management.
  • Coordinate and consolidate Intercompany Budget & Projection with GPS sites, Finance Directors and Corporate Tax.
  • Undertake detailed analysis to ensure consistency and accuracy of GPS Budget & Projections.
  • Provide variance commentaries through collaboration with GPS teams to support Corporate Tax and InterCompany Profit.
  • Participate in GPS and Global Projects.
  • Identify, recommend and implement ways to improve reporting processes.
  • Create work instructions and/or process documents for reporting activities and recommended improvements.
  • Support Financial Flow reviews and implementation for GPS.
  • Support the Finance Lead with Indirect Tax related queries and initiatives.

In addition, the suitable candidate should demonstrate:

  • Commitment to enforce a high level of internal controls and compliance with corporate policy across all areas of finance.
  • Commitment to a culture of continual review and improvement of departmental systems and procedures.
  • Strong business partnering skills.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Qualified Accountant with technical knowledge of US GAAP.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in Financial Reporting and Analysis. International experience and/or Tax experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion and product costing.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills with both internal and external business contacts.
  • Strong team player with ability to build and manage relationships within and across functions.
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve tasks within deadlines.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Highly developed understanding of financial reporting processes and controls.
  • Demonstrate commitment to goals and takes accountability.
  • Self-motivated and proactive – displays a “can do” approach and a winning attitude.
