Key Responsibilities as Senior M&E Resident Engineer (Water & Wastewater)
- Provide on-site supervision and management across a programme of water and wastewater network improvement works, including both new-build and upgrade projects.
- Work closely with Regional Contractors to ensure delivery in full compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and relevant legislation.
- Liaise with Local Authorities, project stakeholders, and design teams to support successful project delivery.
- Carry out HSQE audits, manage HSQE issues, and ensure robust health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained on site.
- Maintain and update project trackers, records, and reporting systems to ensure accurate documentation and traceability.
- Support Design Engineers through the provision of site feedback, technical clarifications, and practical engineering input.
- Attend, chair, and manage meetings with Regional Contractors and project stakeholders, providing regular updates to Regional Leads.
- Manage and respond to complaints, site issues, and stakeholder concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
- Create snag lists, monitor completion of remedial works, and sign off completed works to the required standards.
- Conduct pre-construction site visits to identify potential issues, mitigate risks, and communicate findings to project teams.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as M&E Resident Engineer (Water & Wastewater)
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years' post-graduate experience in site engineering, construction supervision, or resident engineering roles.
- Significant experience working on water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects, including WWTW, WWTP, WTP, pumping stations, or network improvement schemes.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, procedures, and HSQE management on live construction sites.
- Experience conducting site audits, managing HSQE issues, and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate project records, trackers, and as-built/as-laid documentation.
- Strong contract administration and site supervision capabilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively with contractors, design teams, Local Authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Full flexibility to travel to project locations throughout the Waterford / Wexford region as required.
