Job summary

MSD is seeking an Associate Director of Data Engineering and Analytics within SM S&T to lead complex data initiatives that connect business, science, manufacturing, and digital teams. The role emphasizes data accessibility, scalable pipelines, and data-driven decision making in a regulated environment.

The successful candidate will partner with diverse teams to translate business needs into practical analytics solutions and ensure sustained adoption and measurable value across the product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with eight years of experience (MS with 6).
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or regulated digital roles.
• Ability to lead complex technical workstreams independently.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and unit operations.
• Experience designing data pipelines, analytics products, dashboards, or scalable analytics.
• Ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex data engineering and analytics initiatives aligned to SM S&T priorities.
• Convert business needs into practical implementation plans and measurable value.
• Manage high-impact workstreams with milestones, risks, and alignment.
• Ensure analytics stay focused on well-defined business problems and scalable value.
• Serve as a technical partner across business, manufacturing, scientific, and digital teams.
• Design and enhance data pipelines and curated datasets for analytics use cases.
• Improve data quality, contextualization, and accessibility across SM S&T.
• Enable scientists and engineers to access data for process monitoring and lifecycle management.
