Job summary

Mastercard in Dublin is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our real-time fraud platform. You will own complex features across the full software lifecycle, shaping design and performance for a high‑scale distributed cache system that underpins secure payments.

You will lead with code quality, collaborate across regions, and mentor engineers in an agile environment, delivering resilient solutions and strong operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with modern Java and distributed systems.
• Experience with Spring, RESTful APIs and application servers.
• Familiarity with in-memory data grids (Geode, Hazelcast, Redis) is preferred.
• Solid Linux, SQL, and messaging knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD and testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS and secure development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end features from design to deployment.
• Design high-performance, scalable Java capabilities and APIs.
• Troubleshoot multi-tier distributed systems and diagnose issues.
• Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards across the team.
• Coordinate releases across a follow-the-sun, multi-region model.
• Participate in on-call support and incident analysis.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge across the group.
