Job summary

E‑Frontiers in Galway is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a global financial services organisation and support strategic initiatives within its Workplace Investing and Stock Plan Services technology division.

You will design and deliver high‑volume Java enterprise applications and REST services, work with Kafka and ActiveMQ, develop complex PL/SQL queries, and contribute to CI/CD, DevOps and Azure AKS initiatives in a hybrid Galway environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience with Java EE in high-volume enterprise systems.
• Strong expertise in Java, REST services, enterprise messaging, design patterns and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, ActiveMQ, PL/SQL and complex SQL queries.
• Good understanding of Azure, AKS, CI/CD and DevOps; AWS experience is advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, take ownership of complex technical work and operate in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver high-quality Java enterprise applications and REST services across the full development lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical and architectural design, ensuring solutions align with engineering standards and best practices.
• Work with enterprise messaging technologies including Kafka and ActiveMQ.
• Develop and optimise complex PL/SQL queries and work with relational databases.
• Support CI/CD, DevOps and cloud initiatives within an Azure AKS environment, while contributing to continuous improvement and automation.
