Job summary

eir business talent in Athlone is seeking a Senior IT/OT Automation Engineer to lead planning and delivery across enterprise IT and OT environments. The role focuses on Work Package Ownership, cross-functional alignment with partners, and delivering safe, compliant outcomes with cybersecurity and quality embedded throughout.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive governance routines, and oversee procurement, testing, commissioning, and handover to support teams in a long-term on-site contract.

Qualifications

• Proven experience independently delivering projects in IT and/or OT environments with complex interfaces.
• Strong governance, controls, reporting, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading stakeholder management across technical, quality, operational, vendor and leadership groups.
• Knowledge of Pharma lifecycle processes, FDA regulated environments, GAMP, change management and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead Work Package Ownership for end-to-end IT/OT project delivery including scope, schedule, budget and risks.
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, maintenance, IT security and vendors to align objectives.
• Oversee OT systems design for PLC/SCADA/DCS, historian, MES, OT networking and IT integrations.
• Ensure safety, cybersecurity and quality requirements throughout delivery and change control.
• Manage procurement, SOWs, milestones, technical reviews and escalation of risks.
• Lead FAT/SAT, UAT, documentation, training and handover to support teams.
• Run governance routines with steering committees and issue/risk reviews.
• Mentor Automation engineers and drive knowledge transfer and documentation standards.
