Are you an Instrument Technician who knows water and wastewater instrumentation? We're looking for an experienced Water & Wastewater Instrumentation Technician who has hands‑on experience calibrating, commissioning and fault‑finding process instrumentation and analysers on water or wastewater treatment plants. This isn't a general electrical role. We're specifically looking for someone who understands the instruments that measure and control the water treatment process and who is confident taking an instrument from installation, through calibration and commissioning, to a fully proven and documented system. If your experience includes chlorine analysers, turbidity, pH, flow, level, pressure, temperature, dissolved oxygen and other process instrumentation, this could be the role for you.
You'll work directly on water and wastewater treatment infrastructure throughout Kerry and Munster, responsible for the installation, calibration, commissioning and fault‑finding of process instrumentation. Your work will include:
You’ll be expected to understand not just how to wire an instrument, but what the instrument is measuring, how it should be calibrated and how the measurement relates to the treatment process.
This is a particularly important part of the role. We are looking for someone who has actually worked with process analysers, including their calibration, cleaning, verification and fault‑finding. Experience with manufacturers such as Hach, Endress+Hauser, ABB, Siemens, VEGA or similar would be advantageous.
You have spent several years working on:
and you are comfortable walking onto a site and being responsible for the instrumentation. You don't need to be a PLC programmer. You do need to understand how a field instrument works, how to calibrate it, how to prove its signal and how to determine why the value on the SCADA screen doesn't match what's actually happening in the process.
We're particularly interested in candidates who have worked with:
This isn't a maintenance position where you'll be servicing the same equipment every day. You'll work across a variety of water and wastewater projects, commissioning new equipment and working with experienced electrical, mechanical, process and automation engineers. You'll get exposure to: Instrumentation - Process - Electrical - PLC - SCADA - Automation- Commissioning. And as Right Group continues to grow, there is a genuine opportunity to progress into:
Package €60,000€70,000+ depending on experience. Company vehicle. Pension. Permanent position. Full‑time employment. Training and manufacturer‑specific development. Long‑term project pipeline. Career progression. Work predominantly across Kerry & Munster.
We’re looking for the person who knows this stuff. If you've spent the last few years calibrating chlorine analysers, checking turbidity, calibrating pH, proving flowmeters, commissioning level instruments and fault‑finding instrumentation on water or wastewater plants, we want to talk to you.
If that's you, apply to Right Group.
