Job summary

RIGHT Group, a leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineering company in the water and wastewater sector, hires an Electrician around Mayo to maintain electrical condition of treatment plants and pumping stations. You will inspect LV installations, report findings, and carry out repairs, working largely independently.

The role requires 3+ years post-apprenticeship experience, Safe Pass and a full driving licence, and offers a 39-hour week with a company van, phone and pension.

Qualifications

• 3+ years post-apprenticeship experience.
• Full driving licence and Safe Pass/Manual Handling.
• Comfortable with inspection, testing and verification of LV installations.
• Works independently with good reporting skills.
• Familiarity with IS 10101 and site paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Periodic inspection and testing of LV installations to IS 10101.
• Identify and record defects and non-compliances clearly.
• Complete test records and inspection reports on tablet/laptop.
• Carry out remedial works arising from inspections and verify work.
• Work from electrical drawings and schematics; communicate findings to the project team.
• Complete site paperwork (permits, RAMS) and maintain high H&S standards.

€57,000 to €60,000 (approx. €28 to €29.60/hr) + company van + phone + pension. Permanent, 39-hour week.

RIGHT Group is a leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineering company in the water and wastewater sector, with a strong pipeline of work across the West and North West.

We're hiring a qualified Electrician based around Mayo to look after the electrical condition of water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations in the region. The work covers inspecting and testing LV installations, reporting what you find, and carrying out the repairs that follow. You'll suit the role if you live in or around in or around Mayo, Sligo or North Roscommon.

This role suits an electrician who likes working independently, managing their own schedule and taking pride in thorough, well-documented work.

The Role

• Plan your own work and run your own day, reporting to a Programme Manager
• A mix of inspection and testing on LV installations and hands-on remedial work. It isn't a desk job and it isn't pure testing
• Varied industrial sites: control panels, distribution, pumps, VSDs and instrumentation
• Your own van, with sites mainly reached daily from home

• Complete test records and inspection reports on tablet/laptop
• Carry out remedial works arising from inspections, then test and verify your own work
• Work from electrical drawings and schematics

• Complete site paperwork (permits, RAMS) and maintain high H&S standards
• 3+ years' post-apprenticeship experience
• Confident with inspection, testing and verification of LV installations, and with completing test records
• Good working knowledge of I.S. 10101
• Comfortable with digital reporting and good attention to detail
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling
• Full driving licence

Nice to have

• Safe Electric Qualified Certifier (QC). If you don't hold it, we'll put you through it
• Experience completing Periodic Inspection Reports
• Industrial, utilities or process experience, with water/wastewater a bonus
