Your new company

As Senior Human Resources Manager, you will join a public sector organisation that provides individualised care to young people remanded in custody or sentenced by the Courts for a period of detention. Your new office is located in North Dublin and requires you to join their team on a 12-month basis with the possibility of extension. Your role offers a grade VIII salary scale, ranging from €81,444 to €98,231 per annum. The company offers hybrid working arrangements.

Your new role

As Senior Human Resources Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Play a key leadership role to evolve the HR strategy in line with the Strategic Plan 2022-2026.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of key HR initiatives, including HR strategy, workforce planning, recruitment, and HR operations.
  3. Provide expert input to organisation design and development initiatives.
  4. Develop a Learning and Development plan.
  5. Own the delivery of HR policies and practices aligned with Public Sector requirements and employment legislation.
  6. Manage performance management, mentoring, and professional support to the management team.
  7. Advise the senior team and support colleagues on Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
  8. Ensure management and coordination of all people activities, including recruitment, training, employee relations, equality, and diversity.
  9. Maintain ongoing communication with trade unions at national and local levels (formal & informal).
  10. Develop and maintain a highly motivated human resources team capable of meeting the growing needs of the service.
  11. Ensure best practice recruitment and selection policy compliance across all functions.
  12. Oversee the development of a framework to identify employees for development and increased responsibilities.
  13. Support effective succession planning by maintaining a pipeline of capable employees.
  14. Manage performance to align individual objectives with organisational strategy and goals.
  15. Support the development and implementation of a performance management framework in partnership with line management.
  16. Support the introduction of a high-performance, people-centric culture.
  17. Lead the development of people management skills within the team.
  18. Prepare the annual People Budget for presentation to the Director and Board.
  19. Lead initiatives related to workforce controls and attendance management.
  20. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
  21. Stay informed about policy and legislative developments nationally and internationally impacting the service.
  22. Benchmark against best practices, review, audit, and implement changes based on new evidence.
  23. Perform all general administrative and ad-hoc duties related to the role.

What you'll need to succeed

To qualify for the Senior Human Resources Manager role, you should have recent relevant experience and a degree or equivalent in human resources. Experience in the public sector is desirable. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are essential, as well as a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines. Excellent strategic and analytical skills are also required.
