Job summary

360living in Galway is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to lead a caring team across Galway city and county. You will combine hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, mentor junior carers and ensure high standards of documentation and quality reviews.

This role offers full-time guaranteed hours, a company vehicle, pension contributions and clear pathways to coordinator roles, with on-call duties and enhanced hourly rate for premium responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of domiciliary care experience.
• Proven ability to handle complex cases.
• Experience with HSE-funded services.
• Excellent assessment and documentation skills.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to a caseload of clients.
• Handle complex care arrangements and challenging situations.
• Mentor junior carers and support shadowing/induction.

Your Role

Direct Care Delivery

• Provide high-quality care to a caseload of clients
• Handle complex care arrangements and challenging situations
• Model best practice for the team

Leadership & Mentoring

• Support and mentor junior carers
• Conduct shadowing and induction for new staff
• Provide feedback and guidance

Quality Assurance

• Conduct care reviews and reassessments
• Ensure documentation standards are met
• Identify and elevate concerns appropriately

On-Call Support

• Participate in on‑call rota (additional payment)
• Respond to out‑of‑hours queries
• Provide emergency cover when needed

Requirements

• Senior Healthcare Assistant with 3+ years domiciliary care experience
• Proven ability to handle complex cases
• Experience with HSE-funded services
• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support (Level 6 desirable)
• Experience mentoring or supervising others
• Excellent assessment and documentation skills
• Full clean driving licence
