Job summary

Block Labs in Ireland is seeking a senior Go backend engineer to build distributed, transactional backend services across crypto, fintech, and real-money gaming. You will own architectural decisions, implement high-volume Go services, and ensure production behaviour with strong reliability.

You will convert business requirements into scoped work, design with multi-tenancy in mind, and establish tests and guardrails to prevent debt.

Qualifications

• Must have deep proficiency in Go for high-volume, transactional systems.
• Strong judgement on multi-tenancy, event-driven architecture, queues and their failure modes.
• Demonstrated ownership of a system from development to production.

Responsibilities

• Convert business outcomes and constraints into scoped, sequenced, shippable work.
• Design and implement distributed Go services handling high-volume transactional workloads.
• Make the correctness guarantees explicit and enforce them; balances and transactional behaviour must be deterministic.
• Run the agentic system that produces the work: context, decomposition, execution and verification.
• Set the harness and guardrails others work inside: context, tests, and automated checks that prevent debt.
• Operate what you ship: monitor, diagnose, and fix issues in production.
