Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Dublin seeks a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead design for foundations and underground structures. You will produce reports, specifications, and drawings, liaise with clients, and guide a team of engineers across multi-disciplinary projects.

You should bring Chartered Engineer status, a strong geotechnical background, and proven project delivery experience. The role supports a hybrid work policy and professional development within a global consultancy.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on geotechnics.
• Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
• Experience delivering Ground Investigations, GIRs and GBRs.
• Experience managing small teams of engineers.
• Experience guiding and nurturing a team of Engineers in their technical development.
• Relevant geotechnical experience with experience in project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design foundations and substructures for large underground spaces like deep basements and shafts.
• Design retaining wall systems and major temporary works for underground structures.
• Participate in 2D and 3D modelling for soil/structure interaction.
• Travel to project sites for project delivery and client liaison.
• Manage engineers as part of a wider design team.
