Job summary

Murphy Geospatial is seeking a Lead Surveyor to drive outcomes on key projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

You will implement geospatial workflows, perform site capture with laser scanners, register and publish point clouds, assist the BIM team, and mentor junior staff while aligning with ISO19650 principles.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Surveying, Geomatics or similar.
  • 3–5 years of surveying experience.
  • Full, clean Irish/EU driving license.
  • Good BIM knowledge (ISO19650) desirable.
  • Programming skills desirable.
  • Chartered status or membership desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a Lead Surveyor on key projects and driving positive outcomes for both the client and Murphy Geospatial.
  • Delivering projects on time, within budget, to the required quality and within a safe manner.
  • Adopting the company’s Geospatial workflows & standards
  • Site Capture using a range of Laser Scanners – TLS & SLAM Methodology
  • Registration & Publishing of Point Clouds using a range of Software
  • Meshing Point Clouds and Photogrammetry Inputs
  • Installation and Adjustment of Datum NetworksInput into innovation and company workflows
  • Supporting the BIM team
  • Mentoring junior team members and upskilling
  • Understanding and supporting the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and Management Systems and identify nonconformities.

Qualifications
  • Possess a relevant degree qualification (Surveying, Geomatics or similar)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant surveying experience
  • Ability to test and learn new software
  • Good experience of working with Point Clouds
  • Possess a full, clean Irish/EU driving License.
  • Good understanding of BIM and ISO19650 Principles (desirable)
  • Programming Skills (desirable)
  • Possess Chartered surveyor status or professional membership of surveying bodies (desirable but not essential).
