Job summary

Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd in Ireland is seeking a Senior Geophysicist to lead geophysical surveys and production of project documentation in Ireland. The role alternates between field operations and office reporting, with a focus on magnetometry, GPR and resistivity techniques across national projects.

The position offers hybrid working in Tallaght, Dublin, with travel to UK sites as required. A permanent, full-time appointment with a 6-month probation is offered, reporting to the Geophysics

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial archaeological geophysics.
• Thorough knowledge of magnetometry.
• Proficient with geophysical survey equipment.
• Willingness to travel and work across the UK Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field surveys and office production of reports.
• Collect data, ensure quality control and SHEQ.
• Support managers with field and reporting tasks on larger projects.
• Coordinate field logistics for large-scale surveys across UK and Ireland.
