Job summary

Harvey Nash Ireland invites a software engineer to join our team in the Galway region. The position focuses on delivering enterprise-grade web applications using Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, and modern front-end practices in a large-scale environment.

The role requires collaboration with product managers, analysts and QA engineers, participation in design reviews, and mentoring of peers. The role is hybrid now, moving to five days onsite from 2027, with local candidates within 100 miles of Galway.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology-related discipline.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications.
• Strong experience developing modern web applications and services.
• Experience with Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Signals, and front-end engineering best practices.
• Experience in Nx/monorepo environments and REST API integrations.
• Knowledge of Java/Spring services, distributed systems, CI/CD, AWS, observability, production support.
• Experience with Vitest, Storybook, and modern quality development approaches.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical design discussions and solution development.
• Deliver high-quality software aligned with architecture standards.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices.
• Support automated testing and proactive defect prevention.
• Participate in production support, issue investigation, and root cause analysis.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Analysts, System Analysts, and Quality Engineers.
• Contribute during planning and estimation.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical considerations effectively.
• Support delivery commitments while maintaining engineering quality.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to improve productivity and quality.
• Deliver high-quality software that meets business and customer needs.
• Demonstrate ownership of features and technical solutions.
• Improve reliability, maintainability, and testability.
• Support predictable and sustainable delivery outcomes.
