ICON is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Revenue team in Dublin, hybrid, to ensure accurate revenue recognition and high-quality financial reporting

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant - ACA / ACCA / CIMA (Big 4 Trained or Industry experienced)
• Extensive financial accounting experience including revenue accounting and reporting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue guidance, internal controls

Responsibilities

• Review revenue recognition for clinical trial contracts under US GAAP ASC 606
• Calculate and report monthly revenue with supporting analysis
• Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reconciliations
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities for accurate reporting
• Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and audits
• Act as SME in revenue recognition and Oracle Financials, guiding the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices

Senior Financial Accountant - Revenue, Dublin, Hybrid

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our diverse and dynamic Revenue team.

You will play a key role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and financial reporting across our global clinical trial portfolio. You will provide technical expertise, support strategic decision-making through financial analysis, and contribute to the continuous improvement of revenue accounting processes.

What You Will Be Doing

• Reviewing and analysing revenue recognition for clinical trial contracts in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606 requirements.
• Calculating and reporting monthly revenue in line with corporate reporting timelines, providing analysis to support management review.
• Preparing and maintaining revenue schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinating month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, while supporting internal and external audits.
• Acting as a subject matter expert in revenue recognition and Oracle Financials, providing guidance and support to team members.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
• Mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices across the team.

Your Profile

• Qualified Accountant - ACA / ACCA / CIMA (Big 4 Trained or Industry experienced)
• Extensive experience in financial accounting, including revenue accounting and revenue recognition, with a proven track record of managing financial reporting and compliance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition guidance, financial regulations, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and revenue data and provide strategic recommendations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and provide clear financial insights.
