Job summary

Qualifications

Our client is expanding their Applications Engineering team tomeet client’s requirements in a rapidly expanding market. The successfulcandidate will support the global applications engineering team by providingapplications and technical support to clients and providing training andleadership to new Applications Engineering team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participatein industry standards groups, committees, and organizations to ensure processesand products are cGMP compliant, follow best practices, and are compatible withthe regulatory environment required by our pharmaceutical customer base
• o Understand how the regulatorybody in their territory impacts the design and development of single-usesystems, and relays that back to the Applications Engineering team
• Establish strategic relationshipsdirectly with our customers as a trusted and reliable technical partner
• Act as the first line of defence forcustomer related questions of single-use systems and filtration inquiries as anestablished subject matter expert (SME) in multiple areas
• Prepare and give presentations atindustry conferences on a specific topic of their expertise
• Participate formally in the AE Mentoring Program, as aMentor for at least two newer team members
• Work directly with Business Development and other relevantteams, such as the Global Finance and Accounting Department, to develop andmaintain positive and collaborative technical relationships with clients intheir territory and surrounding areas
• o Helps to maintain and increase productusage and support relevant internal teams by leading on-site and virtualtechnical discussions, presentations and demonstrations
• o Collaborates on pricing strategy,pricing models, and value engineering
• o Provides frontline training andtroubleshooting of issues related to implementing technology platforms atclient facilities, including performing filterability studies
• o Acquires feedback and expectationsfrom clients and relay that information to relevant internal teams

Requirements

Skills andRequirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in MechanicalEngineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, ManufacturingEngineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalenttechnical discipline from four-year college or university. Master’s degree(M.S.) preferred
• Must have at least 5-8 years ofexperience as a technical specialist in single-use systems and technologiesgeared toward the pharmaceutical industry. Filtration experience is a plus
  
• Proven ability to work independently,with strong self-motivation and time management skills
• Travel to client facilities and thecompany’s entities globally may account for roughly 25% of time or more
• Able to read, analyse, and interpretcommon scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legaldocuments
• Experience in responding to inquiriesor concerns from clients, or members of the business community in aprofessional manner
• Write speeches, articles, whitepapers, or ballots for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
• Ability to effectively presentinformation to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
• Demonstrate computer skills, includingfamiliarity with CAD and proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets anddatabases
• Apply advanced mathematical conceptssuch as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
