Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Ireland seeks a Senior Environmental Scientist to lead environmental inputs for major projects. You will coordinate EIARs, screening and environmental planning, guiding multidisciplinary teams and mentoring colleagues.

The role emphasizes client liaison, delivery, and regulatory engagement across water, energy and transport sectors. You will work with Principal Environmental Consultants to advance environmental assessments, ensure compliance, and contribute to business

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental science or engineering; Master’s desirable.
• Chartered membership or progress toward chartership.
• Experience in Environmental Impact Assessment Reporting and non-statutory reporting.
• Knowledge of Irish planning, environmental and consenting legislation.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary environmental assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate environmental inputs to projects including EIARs and EIA screening.
• Manage EIAs for infrastructure, energy, transport and water projects.
• Oversee smaller environmental projects with client liaison and budgets.
• Coordinate environmental deliverables, timelines and resources on large projects.
• Apply discipline expertise (air, climate, noise, geology, hydrogeology).
• Collaborate with engineering, planning and environmental specialists on solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to ensure outcomes.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates and tenders.
• Support growth through innovation and client-focused delivery.
