Job summary

Watlow in Ireland is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our on-site team at a leading semiconductor facility in Co. Kildare.

The role is full-time and on-site, focusing on ensuring safety during installations, risk assessments, and incident investigations in a demanding cleanroom environment. You will conduct site walks, deliver safety training, manage PPE, and work closely with the customer’s EHS teams to maintain compliant and practical safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant course in Health and Safety (NFQ Level 7 or above, Level 8 advantageous)
• At least 3 years’ EHS experience, ideally in semiconductor manufacturing or construction
• Good knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and EHS requirements
• Valid Safe Pass, manual handling and working-at-heights training
• Willingness to work fully on-site at the customer facility

Responsibilities

• Carry out site walks, inspections and risk assessments (pre-task and 5x5) for new installations and non-routine work
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks; update site procedures and policies
• Oversee working at heights safety (ladder certification, scaffolding checks, harness use)
• Manage PPE purchasing and safety updates with the customer
• Investigate accidents and incidents, implement corrective actions and report to authorities (HSA)

Join our on-site team at a leading semiconductor facility in Ireland as our Senior EHS Specialist. Our Watlow team installs and commissions thermal control systems inside an advanced fab, and you’ll make sure that work is done safely in a demanding environment of cleanroom conditions, full PPE and frequent work at heights. You’ll spend much of your time on the floor doing site walks, risk assessments and toolbox talks, working closely with our customer’s EHS teams and leading the response to any incident, from investigation to formal reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out site walks, inspections and risk assessments, including pre-task and 5x5 assessments for new installations and non-routine work.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks, and keep site procedures and policies up to date and practical.
• Oversee working at heights safety, including ladder certification, scaffolding checks and harness use.
• Manage PPE purchasing and supply, and coordinate safety updates and requirements with the customer.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, put corrective actions in place, and handle formal reporting, including to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).

WhatYou’llNeedToSucceed

• Willingness to work fully on-site at our customer’s facility, as this role offers no remote working option

Nice to have:

• Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and scaffolding
• Previous experience with HSA reporting
