Job summary

Abbott Ireland Vascular Division Clonmel is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own the manufacturing engineering function and drive performance, transformation, and operational excellence at a high-volume site.

You will lead a hands-on, mechanically minded team in a people-intensive environment, shaping site strategy, delivering yield and cost improvements, and partnering with the Site Leadership Team to deliver sustained impact.

Qualifications

• NFQ level 7 qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
• 9+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, including leadership roles.
• Proven success leading teams in high‑volume, operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and inspire a highly engaged engineering team operating in a manual, production-driven setting.
• Provide robust, real-time engineering support to high-volume manufacturing operations and optimise equipment, tooling, and processes.
• Lead transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations and define engineering strategy aligned to business goals.
• Own and manage the engineering budget and capital planning, including headcount, equipment investment, and infrastructure improvements.
• Set engineering priorities aligned to safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) and ensure successful delivery of engineering initiatives.
