Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead planning and design of transport schemes across Ireland, based in Dublin or Dundalk with a hybrid work setup. You will contribute to statutory processes and procurement, oversee contract documents, and supervise construction while managing project commercials.

You should have a degree in engineering, be Chartered or near Chartership, and be proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley OpenRoads. Ireland experience is preferred.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer with relevant experience in planning and design of transport projects. The candidate will join our growing Transportation business and will be based in our Dublin or Dundalk office. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, flexible, willing to take on responsibility and comfortable working as part of a team.

Your role

• The role will involve the management planning and design of road, rail, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, input to statutory processes (EIAR, CPO etc), procurement processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration construction supervision and commercial management.

About you

• Relevant experience in a consultancy and/or construction environment.
• Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).
• Chartered Engineer, or close to attaining Chartership.
• Computer literate and with experience of relevant design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads etc desirable but not mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of relevant design standard and ability to translate this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.
• Experience in the management, planning and design of transportation schemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contact administration, construction supervision and commercial management..
• Ability to lead and manage design teams.
• A willingness to develop and build client relationships.
• Experience in the d evelop ment of tender proposals, lead ing bids and winning new commissions.
