Job summary

Stryker Ireland, based in Carrigtwohill, Cork, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Advanced Operations to drive NPI programs in Patient Specific Joint Replacement. You will develop solutions for moderate scope challenges and lead continuous improvement to accelerate time to market.

This hybrid role invites an innovative problem-solver with 2+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience, CAD expertise, and familiarity with regulatory environments.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of experience or a related Master's degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Innovative mindset for problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Experience solving manufacturing/design technical issues with solid judgment in mechanical/structural design.
  • Solid understanding of DFM, statistical tools, and validation/verification techniques.
  • Experience with CAD platforms and integrating design workflows in engineering processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product design, and materials.
  • Experience in FDA-regulated or regulated industries is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support integration of additive manufacturing technologies for joint replacement products, optimizing efficiency and precision.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to accelerate time to market and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the product development lifecycle.
  • Analyze equipment data, conduct tests, and participate as reviewer in process reviews.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance while managing project deadlines and costs for swift market delivery.
  • Participate in Equipment Qualifications, PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, and PPAP generation.

Join Our Team as a Senior Engineer, Advanced Operations

Are you an experienced and innovative engineering professional with a passion for advancing cutting-edge technologies in the medical field? We are looking for a proactive, results-driven Senior Engineer to support our NPI programs working on our Patient Specific Joint Replacement portfolio.

In this role, you will develop solutions to technical challenges of moderate scope and complexity, while playing a key part in leveraging engineering techniques to ensure NPI launch excellence. You will also lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at accelerating time to market, driving cost efficiencies, and expanding margins by implementing innovative additive technologies and processes that differentiate our products and give us a competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Innovative Technology Integration: Support the integration of cutting-edge additive manufacturing technologies for joint replacement products, optimizing efficiency and precision in accordance with Stryker's new product development and design transfer procedures.
  • Relationship Building and Mentorship: Foster productive relationships both internally and externally, playing a pivotal role in team dynamics. Provide periodic guidance and training to team members, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Quality Assurance and Product Optimization: Oversee and ensure the quality of processes and products, aligning with operational standards and material specifications to deliver superior joint replacement products.
  • Collaborative Project Management: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and synergy in all aspects of the product development lifecycle.
  • Analytical Expertise: Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and review results. You may also lead or act as an independent reviewer in process review meetings.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Time Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements while effectively managing project deadlines and product costs to facilitate swift market delivery.
  • Participate in Equipment Qualifications, PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, and PPAP generation associated with design transfer and product launches.
Qualifications and Skillsets:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of experience or a related Master's degree.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills – able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to envision novel approaches to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to manufacturing/design technical issues. Good instincts and sound judgement for mechanical and structural design
  • Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), statistical tools, and validation/verification techniques.
  • Experience in CAD platform development and have the ability to streamline design processes and ensure seamless integration with complex engineering workflowspreferred
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, product/process design, and engineering materials.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry is beneficial.

Ireland Pay Ranges:
  • Ireland: €47,000 - €77,000 EUR Annual

The compensation information posted for this role may be presented as a salary range or a fixed amount depending on the role. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for incentive compensation (such as bonus and/or commissions where applicable), along with Stryker’s comprehensive benefits package.
