Job summary

Flynn is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our project team operating on major construction sites in the Nordics. The role focuses on setting out, QA/QC and delivery to time and budget, reporting to the Project/Contracts Manager.

Candidates should have a third level Engineering qualification and at least 5 years’ experience as a Site/Senior Engineer on large projects, with strong surveying and planning skills. This is an on-site role with a competitive remuneration package.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Site Engineer or Senior Engineer on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC, inspection & test plans, quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction works on site to ensure safety, program alignment and compliance with drawings and Building Regulations.
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and design-team workshops.
• Ensure quality control measures align with the BCAR plan for the project.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, planners and quantity surveyors.
• Support Project/Contracts Manager to deliver on program and budget.
• Identify information gaps and work with project and design teams to resolve them.
• Maintain strong relationships with project team and subcontractors.

REPORTING TO: Project Manager/Contracts Manager

Purpose of Role

Manage construction works on site to ensure that they are completed safely in line with the program & in accordance with the project drawings, specifications & Building Regulations.

Role Responsibilities

• Assume day-to-day management of the site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team Workshops, etc.).
• Ensure quality control measures on the site are implemented and are in line with the overall BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors in the planning & construction of the project.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to ensure that works are completed as per programme, on budget to a high standard.
• Identify any information gaps, develop solutions and rectify in conjunction with the project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.

The Candidate

• Third level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation and defect prevention
• Highly competent in all aspects of setting out, surveying, levelling and managing site control systems.
• Knowledge of various types of construction and construction techniques.
• Competent in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works co-ordination.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
• Ability to formulate plans and execute in line with budget and timeline.
• Ability to make informed decisions & know when to elevate.
• Computer literate and familiar with MS Project, (or similar scheduling package).
