Job summary

Flynn is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Cork team. You will oversee projects from inception to completion, delivering on time and on budget, while upholding high standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction.

Reporting to Contracts Manager, you will lead a technical team, manage resources, and work closely with commercial colleagues to achieve objectives. A strong engineering or construction management background is essential.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience managing complex construction projects (general contracting and fit-out).
• Experience in Design and Build environments.
• Strong ability to plan and deliver complex projects.
• Good numeracy and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update construction programme with Contracts Manager.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor project team.
• Determine staff resources and communicate with the team.
• Implement Flynn’s Safety System and promote safety culture.
• Manage project costs and ensure value for money.

We are currently seeking experienced and talented Project Managers to join our high performing project teams in Cork.

REPORTING TO: Contracts Manager

Purpose of Role

As a Project Manager with Flynn you will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion ensuring that your project team deliver on time and on budget to the highest standard of quality, safety & client satisfaction.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and update the construction programme with the Contracts Manager and ensure your project meets key milestones.
• Technical lead with the ability to coach and mentor the project team.
• Determine staff resources for your project and communicate effectively with your team.
• Implement Flynn’s Safety System and establish an excellent safety culture on your project.
• Manage project quality over the lifecycle and ensure build quality meets expectations.
• Ensure project costs are managed and prelims / packages are tightly controlled.
• Work with the commercial team to deliver agreed commercial objectives for your project.
• Maintain positive relationships with the client team; keep them informed of claims & delays.

The Candidate

• Third level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience managing complex construction projects on commercial projects, including General Contracting (New Build) and Fit-Out projects.
• Experience working in Design and Building Experience.
• Demonstrated ability to plan & deliver a complex project.
• Technically strong with excellent numeracy and report writing skills
• Ability to build & maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
• Understands commercial realities; proposes cost-effective solutions
• Computer literate and familiar with MS office, project, (or similar scheduling package)
