Hero Recruitment Group is helping a globally recognised analytical instrumentation company in Limerick recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team. The role is on site at least four days per week and focuses on hands-on lab work, bringing up boards, and solving complex hardware problems.

You will design and develop electronic hardware systems, lead board bring-up and validation, and mentor engineers while collaborating with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in electronic product development with analogue, digital and mixed-signal design.
• Hands-on PCB design and debugging, DC-DC power conversion and power-supply design.
• Proficient lab measurement skills and structured fault-finding approach.
• Experience in Life Sciences, Medical Device or regulated instrumentation is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of FPGA/CPLD systems and ECAD tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad).
• Excellent communication and clear explanation of design decisions.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop electronic hardware systems, sub-systems and PCBs.
• Lead board bring-up, hardware validation and verification.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause investigations in a lab.
• Perform schematic and PCB reviews and contribute to architecture.
• Support component lifecycle and obsolescence, qualify alternates.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, QA and suppliers.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
