Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an Electronics Engineer in medical devices or a regulated industry.
• Experience building electronics to meet 60601 regulations/standards.
• Bachelor’s in Electronics or related engineering discipline.
• Hands-on PCBA design with Altium; LTSpice simulations.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our medical device client, based on the east side of Galway, is seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer to join a small, collaborative team. In this hands-on role, you will take ownership of electronic equipment design for medical interventions, contributing to projects from initial concept through to production. Responsibilities will include circuit design, simulation, testing and characterisation across multiple projects, while ensuring compliance with IEC 60601 regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with mechanical and firmware/software engineering teams to develop innovative medical device products.

This role can be at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, based on years of experience that you will bring from a similar role.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, development and testing of PCBA and Schematic capture through Altium
• Using LTSpice simulation tool to model and test circuits
• Working with various electronic test and measurement equipment
• Working closely with cross functional teams to meet shared objectives and deadlines

Ideal candidate:

• 4+ years of experience as an Electronics Engineer working in the medical device industry or a similar highly regulated industry
• Working knowledge/building electronics to comply with 60601 regulations/standards
• Bachelors of Engineering in an Electronics discipline
• Hands on experience with design of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), and tools like Altium
• Using simulation tools like LTSpice
