Job summary

Waters is seeking a senior hardware engineer based in Ireland (Limerick) to design and develop electronic hardware for life sciences instruments. You will contribute to architectures, review schematics, and collaborate with manufacturing to introduce and sustain products.

You will work with analog, digital, and mixed-signal designs, PCB development, and rigorous verification. The role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of experience in electronic product development.
• Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design knowledge.
• PCB development and board-level debugging experience.
• Laboratory test and measurement equipment experience.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic hardware systems and subsystems.
• Contribute to technical requirements and architectures.
• Perform schematic and PCB design reviews.
• Support verification, validation activities.
• Drive or support root‑cause investigations and technical problem solving.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support product introduction and sustaining activities.
• Support component lifecycle and obsolescence mitigation initiatives.
• Evaluate and qualify alternative electronic components.
• Work closely with external engineering partners and suppliers.
• Support engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the organization.
