Job summary

Morgan McKinley Ireland seeks a Senior EH&S Specialist to lead environmental programmes, ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate and industry standards. You will advise site teams on EH&S matters and own key environmental systems.

You will monitor IE Licence requirements, liaise with the EPA, deliver reports, manage budgets, and drive continual improvements across abatement systems and wastewater facilities. A strong focus on training and culture is essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant third level qualification in Environmental, Science, Engineering or EH&S, with at least 5 years’ experience.
• Good overall knowledge of legal requirements and best practices in Environmental and Dangerous Goods with experience liaising with regulatory agencies (EPA, Local Authorities).
• Strong EHS general/technical knowledge and experience in Pharma industry or equivalent.
• Highly proactive, mature judgement and decision making ability.
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
• Self-directed with efficient work methods and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Experience working to ISO14001 and ISO45001 international standards.
• Strong collaborator with a proven networker able to leverage EHS&S expertise on and off site.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for management of all environmental matters relating to the IE Licence ensuring monitoring requirements are adhered to (air, ground water, noise, wastewater, surface water).
• Primary site contact for the EPA.
• Maintain 100% site compliance with relevant legislation & J&J EHS standards (Environmental and Dangerous Goods).
• Prepare EHS reports for internal and external groups (corporate reporting, EPA annual IE Licence reporting).
• Own the site abatement systems including Waste water treatment Plant and Carbon Abatement System; lead improvements.
• Ensure monitoring and calibrations requirements are performed as per Licence and other requirements.
• Manage Environmental budget including Waste and Outside Services.
• Supervise wastewater laboratory operations per EPA guidelines and GLP.
• Oversee Total Waste Management Contract for the site.
• Direct reports include Environmental Specialist and Waste Technical Representative.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses; develop preventative actions.
• Lead or participate in audits and programme reviews to ensure compliance with permits, plans, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure effective EH&S compliance communication & training; update policies/procedures as needed.
• Support evolution of site EH&S, compliance and Sustainability culture through communication and participation.
• Perform to high standards in line with Credo and EH&S Standards.
