Job summary

Ramboll in the United Kingdom and Ireland is seeking a Principal/Associate Ecologist to join our Terrestrial Ecology team within the Biodiversity and Ecosystems Service Line. You will work on projects ranging from transport infrastructure to renewable energy with a collaborative, open culture.

You will lead ecological surveys, mitigation design, and client liaison across Ireland and Northern Ireland, driving high-quality reports and ensuring projects stay on time and budget.

Qualifications

• Proficient MS Word, Excel, Outlook; ArcGIS preferred.
• Experience in fieldwork and survey techniques per guidance.
• Knowledge of ecology legislation and planning systems in Ireland/Northern Ireland.
• Full clean driving licence; willing to undertake unsociable hours.
• Member of CIEEM with CEcol or CEnv preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing ecology projects within large-scale developments with guidance from ecology leads.
• Main contact with Ramboll project managers, clients, and sub-consultants in Ireland.
• Plan and undertake ecological surveys and prepare high-quality reports (habitat, species).
• Undertake ecological mitigation design and delivery.
• Liaise with regulators and planning authorities.
• Deliver technical work on complex projects and manage budgets.
