Job summary

Ramboll in Ireland seeks a Principal/Associate Ecologist to join the Terrestrial Ecology team within Environment & Health. You will contribute to diverse projects from transport and infrastructure to renewable energy, leading a growing ecology group.

The role offers a collaborative culture, development opportunities, and flexible working options. You will engage with regulators, clients, and sub-consultants while advancing sustainable change across Ireland and the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading ecology projects within environmental consultancy.
• Experience planning and conducting ecological surveys and reporting.
• Knowledge of ecology legislation and planning processes in Ireland and N.I.

Responsibilities

• Manage ecology projects on large-scale transport and development schemes.
• Be the main contact with Ramboll project managers, clients and sub-consultants in Ireland.
• Plan and undertake ecological surveys and produce high-quality reports.
• Design and implement ecological mitigation measures and liaise with regulators.
• Deliver technical work on complex projects and manage budgets and timelines.
• Prepare fee proposals and contribute to client relationship management.
• Supervise junior ecologists and coordinate resources within a multidisciplinary team.
• Review reports including licensing considerations and environmental statements.
• Support business development and delivery of large projects on time.
