Job summary

Jacobs Ireland is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our Water and Transportation team. You will lead drainage schemes across Ireland, mentor engineers, and deliver designs to high standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary experts.

You are Chartered or working towards chartership, with experience in SuDS, flood risk and hydraulic modelling. We offer hybrid working, career growth, and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIEI, ICE or equivalent) or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience delivering drainage infrastructure within transportation, highways or civil projects.
• Proficiency in drainage modelling software such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow or similar.
• Strong knowledge of drainage standards, SuDS and flood risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to drainage schemes for highways, rail and urban development.
• Undertake drainage assessments, feasibility studies and optioneering.
• Deliver detailed drainage designs to international standards.
• Produce hydraulic modelling, calculations and design reports.
• Design SuDS and nature-based solutions for sustainability.
• Support flood risk assessments and surface water management strategies.
• Provide technical oversight and QA for deliverables.
• Collaborate with environmental, highways, structures and water teams.
• Build client relationships and drive projects from concept to construction.
• Mentor graduates and junior engineers to grow the team.
