Position Summary

Please Note: This is a defined term 6-month contract role.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will be key to an innovative initiative aimed at transforming experiences for colleagues, clients, and members. You will ensure product success and end-user satisfaction within a collaborative environment following lean and agile methodologies. Your role involves applying a user-centered design approach to find optimal solutions in small, cross-functional teams, educating teams on lean and agile processes, and leading products from discovery through delivery while maintaining a human-centered design perspective.

A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and research methodologies is essential. Empathy, creative problem-solving, adaptability, collaboration, excellent communication, curiosity, and a learning mindset are fundamental traits for success.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Solve the right problems by understanding user needs to deliver impactful products and services.
  • Adopt a lean/iterative mindset; prioritize conversations over extensive documentation.
  • Be a full-stack designer: engage with research, usability evaluation, information architecture, wireframes, visual design, CSS, and HTML. Expertise in all areas is not required, but a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, pairing with designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Embrace a Lean/Agile mindset, adapting and experimenting with design processes.
  • Stay updated on UX/UI industry best practices and trends.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a UI/UX role.
  • 2+ years in at least one of the three design pillars: user research, interaction design, or visual design.
  • 1+ year working effectively within Agile and lean methodologies.
  • 1+ year experience working independently with clients or stakeholders on business or enterprise applications.
  • 1+ year executing user-centered design methodologies from research to implementation.
  • 1+ year proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Axure, or InVision.
  • 1+ year experience with modern front-end technologies and open-source frameworks (e.g., Material Design, HTML/CSS, responsive design).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience advocating for UX design within large organizations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype.
  • Willingness to present on design topics internally.
  • Healthcare industry experience.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or similar. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
