Overview

Senior Dietician – Ballinasloe, Co. Galway

Senior Grade Dieticians required by Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, for a new opportunity in Portiuncula University Hospital.

About the Hospital

Portiuncula University Hospital is a Model 3 hospital providing 24/7 acute surgery, acute medicine and critical care along with Emergency Department and maternity services to adults and children in the catchment areas of East Galway, Westmeath, North Tipperary, Roscommon and Offaly. The hospital has natural referral pathways to the Midlands, particularly in respect of patients that are referred in via the Emergency Department and discharged back for appropriate care i.e. orthopaedics, elderly care services etc. In addition, the hospital’s paediatric service has linkages with Crumlin Children’s Hospital for shared care arrangement in relation to oncology.

Responsibilities
  • The post holder will support the principle that care of the patient comes first at all times and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree
  • Maintain throughout the Group’s awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all hospital activities.
  • Performance management systems are part of the role and you will be required to participate in the Group’s performance management programme.
Hours

35 per week

Clinical area

Diabetes, Working alongside the Clinical Specialist Dietitian in Diabetes to provide a service to those with diabetes attending the service. The post will also provide opportunities for cross cover within the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics as per service needs.
