Job summary

Bloomberg in Dublin is building a new Data capability focused on metadata management, data quality, semantic modeling and workflow automation. The team will enhance how Bloomberg data is modeled, described, governed and delivered.

You will initially work across Bloomberg's metadata ecosystem, learning field metadata, APIs, models and datasets. As you grow, you’ll own workflows, automate processes and collaborate with Product and Engineering.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or higher in a technical, quantitative, information-management or financial discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in data management, data engineering or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with structured data using Python, SQL or similar.
• Experience investigating data quality with profiling, validation and root-cause analysis.
• Understanding of data quality, metadata, modeling and lifecycle management.
• Strong analytical judgment and ability to work across teams.
• Experience building automation and governance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across Bloomberg metadata and semantic platforms (UFM, XDM, BQL, Calc_Rt, Data License).
• Own complex metadata, data-quality and dataset onboarding from requirements to release and remediation.
• Analyze inventories to identify inconsistencies, gaps and standardization opportunities.
• Investigate quality issues using profiling, validation and root-cause analysis.
• Identify repetitive workflows and design automation with scripts and tooling.
• Build validation, monitoring, reporting and change-impact processes.
• Align concepts and classifications across metadata systems and contribute to semantic modeling.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Engineering on tooling, APIs and workflow improvements.
• Translate operational needs into metadata solutions for product and engineering.
• Explore AI-assisted tooling to enhance enrichment, classification or automation.
• Measure impact of improvements and mentor newer Dublin team members.
