Job summary

Global-e in Ireland is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our classification team. You will advance machine learning models for cross-border clearance and help build the world’s first, production-grade classification system.

You will develop LLMs, analyze data, collaborate with product and engineering, and translate insights into measurable business impact.

The role requires 5+ years in data science, strong ML fundamentals, NLP, and robust communication abilities to drive decisions with data.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data science solving real-world problems and building ML models.
Experience with end-to-end data product lifecycle from ideation to productionization.
Experience training, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs and transformer architectures.
Experience with NLP algorithms and their applications to taxonomy, recommendations, and search.

Responsibilities

Research, design, maintain and evolve ML models for fast, accurate classification systems.
Develop, fine-tune and deploy Large Language Models to improve classification accuracy and automation.
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and inform modeling approaches.
Translate model outputs into short-term commercial impact and long-term business value.
Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to influence decisions with data.
