Job summary

Leap29 is partnering with a leading Irish building consultancy to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer to support hyperscale data centre developments across Ireland.

This role moves beyond traditional design to lead technical assurance, QA/QC oversight, commissioning support, and client representation on high profile projects. You will lead electrical design reviews, assess MV/LV distribution, UPS strategies, generators, switchgear and power monitoring for resilience and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years within electrical building services, mission critical facilities, or data centres.
• Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards chartership).
• Deep experience in MV/LV systems, switchgear, protection systems, and commissioning/testing processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to handle technical reviews independently across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design reviews, technical submissions, and complex calculations.
• Assess MV/LV distribution systems, UPS strategies, generators, switchgear, and power monitoring platforms for resilience and operational performance.
• Support site construction reviews, resolution of RFIs, and technical risk assessments.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning oversight, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Oversee project handover, energisation strategies, and operational readiness plans.
