Job summary

Viatel Technology Group is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Consultant to lead customer engagements across cyber advisory, governance, risk, assurance and operational resilience, primarily for Republic of Ireland clients. You will guide projects through discovery, scoping, delivery and executive reporting, while mentoring colleagues and helping grow the Viatel Cyber Consultancy practice.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cyber security with substantial client-facing consultancy or advisory work.
• Proven ability to lead engagements and build trusted exec relationships.
• Broad knowledge of cyber governance, risk, assurance, and operational resilience.
• Experience applying ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, NIS2 requirements.
• Experience delivering risk/maturity/gap assessments, policies and remediation roadmaps.
• Excellent report writing, workshops and presentations with strong commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements with a pragmatic, outcome-focused approach.
• Strong understanding of Irish and EU cyber security regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagements from discovery to delivery and executive reporting.
• Deliver cyber strategy, governance, risk, compliance, assurance, maturity and resilience initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop prioritised improvement roadmaps.
• Facilitate workshops with boards and senior leaders across clients.
• Translate regulatory obligations into practical security improvements for customers.
• Lead or support incident readiness and resilience exercises; support third-party risk reviews.
• Quality-assure consultancy deliverables and support proposals and statements of work.
• Mentor consultants and develop reusable methodologies with Sales, SOC, and Delivery teams.
