Job summary

Openchip & Software Technologies S.L. in Limerick, Ireland is seeking a CPU Architecture Staff Engineer to lead architectural and micro-architectural specification for cutting-edge OOO superscalar CPU cores used in next-generation SoC designs.

This leadership role requires deep expertise in multi-core coherency, performance analysis, and collaboration with architecture, design, and software teams. You will model workloads with simulators, drive micro-architecture decisions, and contribute to

Qualifications

10+ years leading architectural efforts in OOO superscalar CPU designs.
Expert-level understanding of CPU micro-architectures and memory coherency.
Strong understanding of SoC design with accelerators, CPUs, and memory subsystems.
Experience with advanced simulators for architecture exploration and performance projection.
Knowledge of RISC-V architecture, hardware and software aspects.
Experience with closely coupled accelerators.
Familiarity with AI/ML software frameworks mapping to hardware.

Responsibilities

Authoring specifications for the CPU core with design reviews.
Collaborate with architects to optimize CPU system performance with accelerators.
Use simulators to model workloads in terms of power and performance.
Collaborate with design teams on implementation, verification, and power analysis.
Research next generation requirements to enable future products.
