Job summary

AIR Sligo is seeking a dynamic Controls Engineer to join our automation specialists. You will design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for bespoke equipment, working with a skilled team to deliver innovative solutions for a global client base.

With a degree in engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, you will program AB ControlLogix and Siemens S7, configure networks and drives, and work with robotics and machine vision systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in developing machine control systems.
• Strong PLC/robotics/vision capabilities with hands-on project delivery.
• Familiar with configuring and debugging machine networks and drive systems.
• Excellent communication and self-starting project management traits.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and specifications for equipment from User Requirements.
• Develop and debug PLC/HMI/Robotics/Motion Control/vision systems.
• Research, develop, and implement new control technologies.
• Coordinate controls elements of build and debug of equipment.
• Deliver controls work within schedule and budget; liaise with customers on requirements.
• Procure equipment components and develop machine documentation to EU standards.
