Job summary

Aviva is seeking a senior Compliance leader in Ireland to influence at the highest level, guide regulatory strategy and support delivery of the compliance plan while ensuring fair customer outcomes. You will partner with stakeholders across the business and act as deputy to the Head of Compliance, representing the function at senior forums and driving commercial objectives in line with obligations.

Job description

This is a great job for someone who enjoys influencing at senior level, navigating a complex regulatory environment, and helping shape a strong customer-focused culture. You'll play a key leadership role within Compliance, partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide expert regulatory guidance, challenge and oversight, while supporting the Head of Compliance in delivering the compliance plan.

You’ll also act as deputy to the Head of Compliance, representing Compliance at senior forums and helping the business deliver its commercial objectives while meeting its regulatory obligations and delivering fair customer outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Compliance in delivering the compliance plan, providing oversight, guidance and challenge across the business on Regulatory and Conduct risk.
• Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders, influencing decision-making and embedding a positive culture of accountability, governance and customer focus.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impacts and support the implementation of new regulatory requirements, including Consumer Protection expectations.
• Provide support on strategic projects, propositions and business initiatives, ensuring regulatory and conduct considerations are identified and addressed early.
• Lead compliance activities in the absence of the Head of Compliance, representing the function at management and governance forums, supporting incident management, compliance oversight & monitoring and reporting to senior committees.

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience working in a Compliance, Risk or a Regulatory role within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of the Irish regulatory environment and the ability to interpret, advise on and challenge regulatory requirements effectively.
• Proven experience influencing and building credibility with senior stakeholders, including Executive and Board-level audiences.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex regulatory matters and deliver clear, practical guidance.
• A strong customer and conduct focus, with a track record of promoting fair customer outcomes and embedding positive risk and compliance cultures.

The expected pay range for this role will fall between €80,000 and €85,000 and salary offered will commensurate with candidate's level of skills and experience.
