Senior Commercial Quantity Surveyor – Offsite Leader

Job summary

Vision Built, a Sisk Company, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial control of projects. You will work with the Contracts Manager and Project Manager to maximise commercial returns and manage risks across traditional, design-and-build, and high-value contracts.

You will lead procurement, prepare financial forecasts, manage variations, and ensure timely final accounts while mentoring junior staff and reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Training in commercial management, dispute resolution and contract law.
• Training in leadership, delegation, presentation and communication skills.
• Training in behavioural-based safety and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial strategy for the project and adapt it with the Senior Management.
• Represent the company in commercial and contractual matters to protect entitlements.
• Lead procurement activities from tenders to final account.
• Prepare forecasts, cash flow projections, reconciliations and valuations.
• Manage variations with supporting records; agree final accounts promptly.
• Ensure commercial compliance across contracts including NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Mentor and supervise junior commercial staff and support their development.
• Provide regular commercial reporting to senior management on performance, risks and opportunities.
• Interpret and apply contract law to ensure compliance and protect the company.
• Draft contractual correspondence and advise on bonds, warranties and insurances.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors on commercial matters.
