Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to drive cloud security initiatives for Atlas and the cloud platforms that power it. You will lead security reviews, design secure multi-cloud architectures, and mentor engineers within Product Security.

Based in Ireland (Dublin or Cork) with a hybrid work model, you’ll partner with Atlas engineering, SRE, and security teams to implement policy-as-code, threat modeling, and pragmatic remediation across the stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in application, product, and/or cloud security for large-scale, customer-facing systems.
• Hands-on cloud security architecture experience on at least one major provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with familiarity across VPC, IAM, KMS, and multi-tenant control planes.
• Strong fundamentals in threat modeling, risk trade-offs, and end-to-end system design.
• Ability to read code (Go/Java) and familiarity with Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD, and security automation tooling.
• Proven track record leading security reviews and driving pragmatic remediation with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Co-own and drive Atlas cloud security initiatives across control plane and data plane.
• Lead security reviews for Atlas features and platform changes with threat modeling and testing.
• Design and review cloud architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure for secure reference architectures.
• Embed security into platforms through policy-as-code and secure defaults.
• Collaborate with Detection & Response, SRE, and security teams to investigate incidents and develop detections.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to internal documentation and training.
