Job summary

Mater Private Network is seeking a Senior Clinical Biochemist/Medical Scientist in Biochemistry for a part-time role (21 hours/week) based on-site in Dublin. The post requires CORU registration, MACSLM eligibility, and four years of medical laboratory experience since qualifying as a Medical Scientist, with postgraduate NFQ Level 9.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) and Masters degree.
• Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork Institute of Technology course.
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences awarded prior to 1994.
• Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences awarded prior to 1997.
• Recognised qualification at least equivalent to listed degrees.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient, accredited laboratory service for the patients of the Mater Private Hospital.
• Lead and oversee the Biochemistry section with focus on quality and patient safety.

Education

Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) + Masters

Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science (JUCIT)

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (DIT/KIT) awarded prior to 1994

Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences (DIT/KIT or Galway/Mayo IT) awarded prior to 1997
