Job summary

Abbott in Ireland seeks an experienced analytical chemist for the Clonmel site to support QA testing of raw materials, in-process and finished goods. You will develop and apply test methods, document results, and drive improvements. A NFQ level 7 qualification with 4+ years’ experience is required, within a quality system environment.

Role involves method development, deviation investigations, instrument troubleshooting and training teammates to uphold Abbott’s stringent quality standards.

Qualifications

• NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline with 4+ years of related work experience.
• Working knowledge of quality systems and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to analyze complex data and identify corrective actions.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conducts analytical quality control testing to support manufacturing.
• Utilizes analytical methods to determine quantity, quality and purity of compounds.
• Documents findings and recommends process/test method improvements.
• Investigates root cause and implements CAPAs.
• Troubleshoots analytical instruments and ensures calibration/maintenance.
• Trains others on analytical testing and ensures compliance with procedures.
